JOINT COMMISSION PUBLIC INFORMATION INTERVIEWS
Joint Commission surveys for Buchanan General Hospital are unannounced. The purpose of the unannounced survey is to evaluate hospital compliance with the standards established by the Joint Commission. Based on the results, the Joint Commission will make a determination whether the hospital should be awarded accreditation, and if there are any conditions placed upon the accreditation status for the hospital.
The survey will focus on the issues most relevant to patient safety and quality of care. Anyone who feels that he or she has pertinent and valid information about such issues may request a public information interview with the Joint Commission surveyors at the time of the survey. Information received during the interview will be carefully evaluated to determine its relevance in the accreditation process.
